Apple Fritters



1 package Namaste Foods Muffin and Scone Mix
½ cup no sugar added applesauce
¼ cup oil
½ cup water
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1 fresh apple, grated or chopped fine, (skin on is okay)


  1. Preheat a deep fryer or pot of oil to 375° F. Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar and mix well.
  2. Carefully drop batter by the heaping tablespoon into oil and fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping once during cooking time. Fritters are done when they are golden brown.
  3. Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired and serve immediately.


  • Serving suggestion: Serve with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce for an elegant but easy dessert.
