Brown Butter Blondies

Makes 12 bars


For the brown butter
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
6 Tbsp light brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 Tbsp. Namaste Perfect Flour Blend or Organic Perfect Flour Blend

For the blondies
1 package Namaste Blondie Mix
1 egg
1/2 cup melted butter or oil
1/2 cup hot water
3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)


For the brown butter mixture

  1. Cook butter in medium saucepan on medium heat, stirring often until butter turns brown. About 5-8 minutes. Transfer butter to a medium bowl to cool slightly. Add egg, brown sugar and vanilla and beat until light – about 3-4 minutes. Fold in Namaste Foods Perfect Flour Blend. Set aside.

For the Blondies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 8x8 pan with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray.
  2. Make Blondies as directed on package. (Using butter instead of oil makes these REALLY decadent.) Fold in pecans if using. Spread about 2/3 of Blondie batter in prepared pan.
  3. Drop heaping spoons of brown butter mixture randomly on top. Then drop heaping spoonfuls of remaining blondie mixture on top.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes until blondies are golden brown and firm.
