Doggie Treats-Easy Peasy
Contributed by our own Hilde and her dog Ellie! Of course, it's also gluten free!
Ingredients
2 cups brown rice flour
2-4 oz jars of pureed sweet potato baby food
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Mix ingredients together to form a stiff dough. If necessary, add extra flour or water as needed.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out evenly until it’s about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut into desired shape or slice to make cubes.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, or lightly oil the cookie sheet. Place treats about 1/2 inch apart. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely before storing.
- How to Store Dog Treats: In general, store and use as you would cookies. Humidity levels may soften the treats. Humid/hot climates may promote faster spoilage of the treats. Store in an air-tight container or plastic zip bag at room temperature for up to 1 week. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Variations
- Non-vegan version: substitute beef or chicken pureed baby food for sweet potato baby food.
