Pie Crust

Great for fruit pies or quiche! Makes 3 pie crusts


3 cups Namaste Foods Organic All Purpose Baking Mix
1 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
3-4 Tbsp. sugar (omit for savory pie)
1 large egg
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. vinegar or lemon juice


  1. Combine mix and salt.
  2. Cut shortening into dry ingredients with pastry blender or forks.
  3. Mix egg, water and vinegar. Add to dry ingredients and mix until dough forms a ball. Knead until smooth. Shape into 3 one inch thick discs. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
  4. Roll out in circle between 2 pieces of wax paper or plastic wrap.
  5. Use in recipe as directed.
